In the past school semesters, I have written at least one research paper per year. Most of them did not have a very rigid assignment — I basically picked a topic, researched about the topic, and put all the ideas together into one paper. The most recent research paper that I had accomplished was more specific — it required that I write a historical research essay. The choice of topic was not limited to a specific subject, so I chose a topic that I was most interested in and wanted to learn from — the history of MRIs magnetic resonance imaging.
Other than the historical research paper, I have not done any other type of research papers, so this assignment will be a new experience for me, reflection paper on research. My general experiences with research papers have been tedious and grueling, but the end result turned out to be very rewarding. I spent most of my time finding information from websites, encyclopedias, magazines, etc.
On the one hand, I tried to find as much relevant information as I could from both primary and secondary sources. But, on the other hand, I forced myself to avoid copy-and-pasting as much as I could. Each time I wrote a research paper, I felt that I had improved on finding sources, reflection paper on research, picking out the most important ideas from those sources, elaborating on those ideas, and adding my own thoughts.
Research writing, reflection paper on research, on the other hand, is a highly intellectual learning experience at all academic levels. First, it improves your skills in general research and helps you recognize what strategies you need to make the process easier and more worthwhile.
Second, it compels you to think and write about your thoughts of the subject matter instead of just telling your audience what other people think.
